Adopt A Greyhound

Second Chance for Greyhounds of Michigan has a network of foster homes. Our foster homes are volunteers who help care for the greyhounds newly arrived from a race track or that have been returned to our group for whatever reason. These are a dedicated bunch of people who often have adopted their own greyhound and are willing to give their time and energy to help other greyhounds through the transition period from track to home.

The greyhounds that are currently in foster care in Michigan and that are available for adoption can be seen at "Adoptable Hounds" page. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the online application below and a representative from SCFG will contact you in the near future. If there are no greyhounds on the "Adoptable Hounds" pages that meet your requirements but you still want to adopt, fill out the online application anyway. We regularly bring retired racers in from the tracks in Florida and Wisconsin.

Second Chance for Greyhounds Application for Adoption Form

In the interest of the retired greyhounds we place, part of the adoption procedure includes an application interview. The purpose of the interview is to be sure that:

New owners are prepared and able to accept the moral, physical, and financial responsibilities involved in owning a greyhound.
We make the right match between owner and pet - ALL adults in the home must be named as applicants.

This application will not be accepted unless completely filled out!   Thank You!
